Jolene was rescued from a 120+ dog hoarding situation in North Texas.
While shy in the beginning, Jolene warms up to be sweet, energetic and loves to play with toys and adores other dogs. Jolene is super smart and has picked up on leash training training, crate/house training, and even learned to jump into a car following in her foster brother's lead.
From Jolene's foster:
"Jolene is one of the sweetest Border Collies that I have came across. Regardless of the situation that she came from she has a sweet temperament and loves people and loves dogs. She is a little shy at first but she is such a fast learner especially when rewarded with treats! She is completely leash trained. She walks on my left side never pulls or goes behind and when I stop she stops and sits. Jolene comes to her name, sits, goes into her room "crate" when told. I'm working on shake and I'm sure she will master in the next couple of days. Jolene's hair was trimmed after she was rescued and it is growing out beautifully, she red and white Border Collie with eyes that can melt you. Jolene will be absolutely amazing addition to any family with or without kids and with or without pets. She is sweet, playful, completely housebroken and loves to play with her toys! All you need to adopt Jolene is... love!"

Bailey (renamed Lucy by her foster) was rescued from a 110+ dog plus hoarding situation in North Texas.
Lucy knows her name and basic verbal and hand commands, like sit, stay, bed, kennel. She does better each time she is placed on a leash and much better on harness over collar. She is a still a shy dog, not yet a big cuddler, but loves to be pet and is very curious. Still in her puppy phase so be sure to have toys available for her to chew (low stuffing or strong material is best for her). Lucy is VERY dog friendly and may do better with another dog in the house (or at least a doggy friend she can interact with regularly) to be her leader and is very affectionate towards other dogs. She will jump into a car if another dog jumps in first and rides very well (will just sleep). Needs plenty on outside time to run out her energy. Lucy is a sweet pup that that is still changing, developing, learning each week and is at the perfect time in her socialization progress to adapt to the routines of her forever home.
She is currently being fostered in College Station, TX.

Bradley is an active pup who loves his people more than anything. He does have some typical Border Collie traits (herding, excitability) that can present as pushiness. He also enjoys playing soccer and tug of war. Cars and birds are his enemy, as he likes to chase them from a distance and along fence lines. Bradley is also very smart and already knows a handful of commands, such as sit, sit pretty, lay down, and roll over. He can get very excited and want to circle or play or tug, and Bradley can also be a little needy when he wants attention, including getting in front of other dogs who happens to be in the way.
Bradley does love to walk and run with his person, and would be great as an only dog, though he gets along with other dogs who are more passive towards him. He does fantastic with people of all ages and sizes, and is great with smaller dogs and larger female dogs. He can be picky about his male dog friends. Overall, Bradley is a sweet pup who wants nothing more than to sit at your feet or by you on the couch and get pet.

Jacque is an approx. 3yo and 57 lbs likely BC/ Aussie mix. Jacque was at the shelter and couldn't walk. Without rescue intervention, he would likely have been euthanized. We were able to get him pulled to safety right before Christmas.
Being the holidays, all of our normal ortho vets were on vacation, but we located a vet in Austin who could see Jacque and provide surgery. Turns out he had both a older pelvic fracture on one side and a Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) tear on the other side (ACL in humans). The pelvic fracture had already started to heal, so nothing was done for that. Instead, we got Jacque a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery. Since the surgery, he has been healing and doing great!
We also found out that Jacque is a sweet teddy bear of a pup. He's been a fantastic foster pup, and loves people. He attentive and observant and super smart. He has been fine with the other dogs in his two foster homes and loves to lay quietly next to his person whether you're watching TV or working at your desk. He rides well in the car, and has been the best patient at the vet.
He does have some more healing to do, so is on slightly restricted activity but is available to adopt at this time with the understanding that he may still need at least one follow up vet visit.

Tulsa and her four pups (Avalanche, Rusty, Goofy Gus, and Lilah) hail from San Angelo by way of Oklahoma, and were part of another hoarding case we partnered with another rescue on. Originally seven pups, three have stayed with the original rescue and four moved on with mom to BCSAVE.
Tulsa is super sweet and exceptionally tolerant of her rambunctious baby boys, who like nothing more than to wrestle and play rough. She loves to get pet by her foster mom. She is so happy to see her foster mom each morning that her whole body wags along with her tail. She craves attention and pets and always sits next to her foster mom if she stops moving. She is still anxious if someone she doesn't know is in the house. The yard is also a little scary, but she's getting used to going out. She is a little timid but will make someone a wonderful pet.
We expect the pups to be fully weaned by the first week of December. Once the pups are weaned and move on from mom, we'll get Tulsa spayed and she'll be on the hunt for her FURever home!

This girl would thrive in a quiet, patient home where she can continue to build confidence and feel safe being herself. She’s not demanding or high-energy; instead, she offers a peaceful presence and a gentle heart that will deeply bond once she feels secure.

Apollo is a very gentle and calm boy in doors. He loves getting affection and being brushed. He is a very sweet boy to his foster sister. He stayed with another friend (who fosters many dogs) and Apollo did very well with her 5 male dogs of various sizes, ages, and breeds. Apollo LOVES to play fetch and shows potential to be trained as a sporting dog, as he excels in fetch!
Apollo can be slightly shy meeting strangers for the first time, but warms up very quickly. A pet sitter stayed with him on Thanksgiving and within an hour she was giving him belly rubs. Apollo loves to go for walks. He is leash trained, but can be stubborn when he wants to stop and smell something. He responds well to positive reinforcement on the leash. He was tested around some rambunctious children and he gave them their space.
Apollo does wonderfully being left out in the house, and has never chewed anything besides toys or bones. As fosters we have also been crate training Apollo, and he has taken to crate training very well!
Apollo is an easy boy who wants his daily exercise of fetch and/or walks and is happy to chill the rest of the time.
Apollo is being fostered in San Marcos, Tx

Payton, six year old female blue Merle Border Collie. Spayed, up to date on all shots and deworming, heart worm negative and on preventative monthly.
Very sweet, friendly, outgoing, and her favorite game is retrieve. She sticks close to her person.
Genetically tested and free from diseases and conditions.
Sensitive to storms and does better crated during them. She has some separation anxiety and I tend to crate her when I’m not home because of that. Other than that, she’s super fun and extremely easy going, walks nicely on leash, gets along with all other dogs and cats, she mostly wants to be left alone by other animals but she just ignores them, she doesn’t start any issues. She doesn’t chew inappropriately and she is well house broken.
Being rehomed as a retired breeding dog and her current foster has 8 dogs and can't keep her
According to current foster, Payton doesn't live with cats but has encountered them plenty of times. Likes to stare at cats but doesn't touch them and is redirectable - thinks she would get desensitized once she lives with cats and has them around all the time.

Hank (#45) was rescued from a 110+ breeder hoarding case (the Heartland Hoarding Dogs) in North Texas.
Since coming into the rescue, Hank has made so much progress in his foster home. He is housetrained and crate trained, great around dogs of all personalities (submissive when he needs to be, corrects when appropriate), cats, and even farm animals like free range chickens and pigs. Hank is also leash trained and has been doing very well on his walks, especially when walked with another leash-confident dog. He has also been in environments with small kids and has been safe and respectful of them. Hank has a playful side and loves running with his dog friends and frolicking in sprinklers!
Hank is very food motivated and will take treats (especially high value ones) from people. He is getting used to touch/pets and is calm getting petted and handled by someone once he gets to know them a little bit. He really loves following his person around the yard and house and chooses to hang out close to people - with lots of time, patience and understanding of under socialized dogs from this background, we believe that Hank will develop into an affectionate, loyal and overall wonderful companion for a family.
Hank's journey has only just started and he will continue to blossom in the months and years to come!

This sweet boy is still a little shy at first meeting but is very affectionate and happy to bond with a bit of time. He is one of the higher energy pups of the age group and is showing interest in chasing after a ball, squeaky toys, and chewing on a bully stick. Morty learned to walk on a leash very quickly and while still building confidence, is excited to explore and sniff - in time, he will be a great adventure buddy!
He is moderately food motivated, and has been good around the 3 cats in his foster home (he has shown the occasional desire to herd/chase, but redirects quickly and ignores them most of the time). He has not had an accident in his foster home and is crate trained.
Morty is available for foster to adopt and is currently being fostered in Houston, TX.

Meet Josee — Your New Best Friend in the Making!
Josee is a 9 month old, ~30 lb gorgeous red Border Collie with a heart as bright as her coat. One of our NTX hoarding pups, Josee was discovered with a broken leg and fractured pelvis. This sweet girl recently had an FHO surgery, and she’s recovering beautifully — gaining strength, confidence, and comfort with each passing day. She’s a little fighter wrapped in fur, and she’s ready to find a family who will love her as much as she loves them.
Josee is wonderfully people-friendly and family-oriented, and she especially lights up around children. Whether it’s gentle playtime or just soaking up affection, she’s happiest when she’s with her humans.
She’s also starting to discover the fun side of life again — she’s learning to enjoy playing with her toys, and she has a special soft spot for any toy she can bat at or tug that dangles. Watching her curiosity bloom is a joy in itself.
Josee is a polite walker, taking in the world with calm interest as she learns about her surroundings. She’s also perfectly content in her kennel, happy to settle in for naps or quiet time as she continues her recovery.
This brave, loving girl is ready for the next chapter — one filled with play, patience, and plenty of snuggles. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle spirit and a spark of playful curiosity, Josee might just be the perfect addition to your family.
Her rehab period is expected to be complete by Christmas.

Rusty is the leader of the pack and a natural athlete, he's the biggest and fastest of the four. But I saw Lilah overtake him one time while running a lap around the puppy pen. Rusty investigates every toy or leaf or piece of kibble--nothing gets by him without some extra scrutiny and sniffs.
We expect the pups to be fully weaned by the first week of December, and will be ready to move on to foster or adoptive homes (Lilah is already pre-adopted so only the boys are available).

Crowley and his brother Jay were surrendered to a high kill Houston shelter after their owners lost their home.
Crowley is such a lover and wants all the attention and belly rubs and cuddles. He is super affectionate and likes a good zoomie a couple of times a day. He caught a very serious respiratory illness from the shelter that had him feeling pretty crummy the first couple of weeks in his foster home, but was very good and cooperative at the vet as well as with his foster in taking his pills, and is now fully healed. Crowley is getting adjusted to the leash and is housebroken and knows how to use a dog door. He crates fine but is also fine being left out of the crate, and rides well in a car. Crowley would love to find a loving and kind home that is looking for a calm companion for daily walks and lots of adventures!

Tulsa (mom) and her four pups (Avalanche, Rusty, Goofy Gus, and Lilah) hail from San Angelo by way of Oklahoma. This family was part of another hoarding case we partnered with another rescue on. Originally seven pups, three have stayed with the original rescue and four moved on with mom to BCSAVE.
Avalanche, besides being a force of nature, is very people-oriented. He's the first to greet his foster mom when she steps into the room. He will also curl up next to her when he's starting to wind down. One of this favorite things is to grab and shake his Mom's tail.
We expect the pups to be fully weaned by the first week of December, and will be ready to move on to foster or adoptive homes (Lilah is already pre-adopted so only the boys are available).
Interested adopters should get pre-approved as we always have more adopters than puppies!

Lilah is increasingly eager to tussle with the boys, and can hold her own. She's very sweet and still loves to be held and petted anytime. And she's the most enthusiastic tail wagger of the bunch.

Viix and her siblings were rescued from a 30+ dog hoarding case in North Texas.
Viix was originally one of the least likely to allow being pet. Since being in foster care, she has improved dramatically and is more than happy to let her foster mom pet her all over (though not dad near as much). An active pup, Viix loves to run and chase her sister as well as give kisses to every other dog in her path (whether they want it or not). She is active, smart, loves to get into things she shouldn’t – basically, a Border Collie!
She is not leash-trained yet but is house-trained with a dog door. She is extremely food-motivated and likes toys, though she is not obsessed with them. She is less active than her littermate sister, Sistene (who she is fostered with), so we think Viix would make a great active companion or family pet. She will settle in the office, but you’ll want to make sure she has plenty to chew on when she wakes up from her nap because if not, she will find something herself. She is great about checking in with her foster mom when outside although she is independent and will explore on her own. Viix will take some time to warm up in a new household, but having another playful fur-sibling or two will make the transition so much smoother!

Nibbles is a blue merle pup who was abandoned along with Ladybug and her buggettes to a small rural shelter.
He's loves people and other dogs (no cat-testing yet). He is fairly active but can settle after plenty of walks and training and playing. He does lack some body awareness though and will hurl himself through the air to catch a ball or toy without any regard for what's in between so probably best NOT around little ones or unsteady mature adults 🤣.
He's bouncy and agile, so might make a good casual agility dog. He is extremely food motivated (think baby shark) and loves to snuggle. He's crate/ leash/ house-trained and UTD on shots and HW negative.
Nibbles' ideal family would be one with a large yard, active and engaged, and with another young dog to play with.

Griff (aka Toby Keith) is one of several dogs from a hoarding case in OK. Partnering with Critter Shack out of San Angelo, we were able to get Griff into a foster home where he is doing great on many things – crate training, leash walking, basic sit and basic come command. Housebreaking is a work in progress (he's still a puppy lol) but this adorable guy is ready to find a FURever active family home!

| Location: | North Texas (DFW) |
| Adoption Fee: | $300.00 |
Mollie is a petite 27 LB., 1 YO pup who came to us after a rescue angel took her in when her owner began to have health issues and couldn't care for her. She is very sweet and loves to play keep away with a ball, going on walks, car rides for sightseeing, and chasing grasshoppers, birds, and dragonflies in the backyard. Mollie has an active streak but has an off switch during the day, during which she can nap next to her people or people/dog watch by a big window. She gets along well with her foster sister, and while shy, warms up to new people pretty quickly.
We're still learning about Mollie but think she'd be great with a moderately active family with another friendly pup to hang out with.

An owner surrender, Ash is a purebred (no papers) white BC about 4 yrs old and 41 lbs - probably a double merle, though he might just be a high white merle. He does not have any apparent hearing or vision issues, but we are treating him for worms, skin and ear conditions right now. He is dog friendly, and absolutely LOOOOOOVES people and gives the best hugs!!!

Opal was rescued from a Central Texas shelter after being found as a stray.
At just 35lbs, this mid-size lil gal is a blast! Opal is very friendly and outgoing and LOVES to play with other dogs (with the bonus of being good with cats too)- and literally bouncy around the yard! She can be a little play-mouthy but takes corrections very well and has learning to be a calmer leash walker (she's current a bit sporadic/pully). Opal is crate trained and house trained and would make a happy, energetic and loving companion!
Opal is currently being fostered in Beaumont, TX

Meet Rambo – AKA Ram – this boy is ready to go 24/7!
High drive-sport prospect
Ram was born June 27th, 2021 and is a traditional black and white border collie, full of energy and ready to play. Ram is a very sweet boy, but would rather be out working that sitting on the couch watching TV. He requires structured daily physical and mental enrichment to stay happy. He ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOVES playing disc, and shows the potential to be a herding dog. He is confident, fearless, and social. Being on the petite side of border collies, he is perfect for those who want to do freestyle.
Rambo is very smart, handler focused, and willing to learn. He is very food and toy motivated and is very intense and not happy just laying around. He does eventually settle, but loves to grab all the toys and throw them at you to get you to play. Rambo would not thrive as just a pet; he needs a owner willing to work with him, teach him, play, and give plenty of enrichment. He is a wild child. He has shown no aggression towards other dogs, though he does try to herd smaller ones. He is a chicken chaser, but his foster is working on that and he is learning to coexist with them.
--- Personality highlights ---
- Driven & focused- great toy/food drive
- Fearless- no hesitation in new environments, or with new people. He doesn’t know a stranger.
- Social- but would rather chase a toy then get pets
- High work ethic- learns quickly and enjoys training
- Sweet tempered
- Crate trained-quiet and sleeps in crate
- Handler focused- attaches to one person, but plays with anyone that has a toy or disc.
--- Strengths ---
Extremely high drive & endless energy
Social & playful with people
Confident & stable in new environments
Crate & potty training
Tolerates brushing, bathing, feet touching.
Knows sit, lay, crate, come, name, around
--- Weaknesses ---
Needs structured environment
Can become overstimulated around small dogs and chickens
Will continuously throw toys at you
No apartment living
Training and manners:
Crate trained
Leash trained-working on loose leash manners
Potty trained
Basic commands- sit, lay, name, recall, leave it. Working on door manners and place
--- Sport & working potential ---
Herding- TBD
Disc 9/10- catching in air and knows around
Agility- TBD
Dock diving- TBD
Trick dog- 7/10, learns good but enjoys running more
Focus & handler engagement- 9/10- very handler focused and always waiting for the next command.
--- Ram’s ideal home ---
Active, and structured with plenty of mental and physical work.
Experience border collie or herding breed handler
Sport home-agility, disc, possibly herding.
Adult only or older children
Only dog household or bigger dogs
No cats
--- Not fit for ---
Apartments or small yards
First time owners
Homes wanting only a pet/couch potato
Busy households w/o training structure
Homes with small children (not aggressive but will try to herd/nip)
Ram transitioned well coming joining his foster’s pack from the boarding facility. He is on a structured schedule; getting exercise in the early morning and evening when it isn’t hot, and training a couple times during the the day. He loves the Kong and toppl toys. He does eventually settle after working, but he never wants to stop. His foster mom is working on teaching him an “off” switch. Ram is not destructive in the home or in the yard, but he will go into the toy bin when he is bored. He is semi-affectionate, eager to please, and always ready to go.

Aspen is a 2 year old, BC/ Aussie mix who is currently being fostered by Sara Carson of The Super Collies! She took him in after being contacted by a family who was not able to care for him, and asked us to help find him a great family for his FURever home.
He is a very good boy - loves to play and run and be with people. He's great with other dogs and cats, and lives for praise and love. He has very low food or toy drive, so is not a sport prospect but he is a very confident and social pup. He is medium-high energy, so definitely not a couch potato but he can settle and is just an overall fun, playful, energetic boy!
At 38 lbs, he's long and lean and in great health. He's current free-fed because he takes ALL day to eat lol. He does drool in the car, but we think with more practice and exposure to car rides, he should get much better.
He is located in Kentucky and any approved adopters will be responsible for all costs related to meeting him and transporting him home.

Foster (renamed Peanut) was rescued from a N. Texas shelter.
Peanut is the most adorable, happy go lucky and playful little guy who loves everyone he meets (including other dogs and cats)! He adores toys and loves to throw them up into the air for himself to catch (and self-sufficient boy!). He is crate-trained and appears to be housebroken (no accidents so far) and is doing great at walking on a leash. He is a little drooly riding in a car, but is otherwise calm and has improved with exposure.

Wally (#76) was rescued from a 110+ breeder hoarding case (the Heartland Hoarding Dogs) in North Texas.
Wally can be a little shy at first meeting but has been a standout amongst his peers for being super sweet, friendly and people-loving. He loves other dogs and has quickly discovered his love of squeaky toys in his foster home. He is housetrained, crate-trained, and is working on his leash confidence (but has picked it up very quickly).
Wally is being fostered in Spring, Tx and will be available for adoption after Nov 3.

| Location: | Upper Gulf Coast (Houston) |
| Adoption Fee: | $300.00 |
Susie was rescued from a 110+ dog plus hoarding situation in North Texas and is the mom of Mickey and Delta.
She is the sweet and most gentle soul that is great with dogs and cats. She learned to walk on a leash after 1 walk and has been a very calm, loose leashed, non-reactive walking companion - she loves her walks now and enjoys sniffing all the new smells. After being a mom for so long, Susie's own personality is slowly coming out and she's starting to discover toys - although her favorite thing is still following people around and getting lots of pets and hugs. Susie is such a gem of a pup - while she is still a little shy to start, she comes out of her shell very quickly with a gentle and calm approach and wants nothing more than love. Susie is crate trained, pretty calm in a car (and she'll jump in by herself with a little encouragement) and house trained.

| Adoption Fee: | $250.00 |
Jay and his brother Crowley were surrendered to a high kill Houston shelter after their owners lost their home.
Like his brother (or perhaps even more so), Jay is a LOVER by definition and very laid back/easy-going. He adores cuddling and will flip over onto his back for belly rubs almost as soon as he gets comfortable with a person. He loves to be in the same room as you and will sleep on the floor near you when he can (he prefers the floor to dog beds). He has a great balance of being able to keep up with long walks and zoomies around the yard, and settling down during the work day and during quiet times. He is very sweet-tempered and eager to please. Jay is crate-trained, housebroken, and has improved a lot on his leash walking skills (getting more confident with each walk). He’s the slightest bit shy when meeting new people, but is calm and will stick near your side and check-in before approaching to sniff/investigate. He’s also been working on basic training like sit, down, stay, etc., and is learning fast. Jay has also been socialized around young children - he is very polite, sniffed them when they approached and accepted pets, but didn’t get in their space.
Jay is the perfect loving and loyal best friend!
| Name: | Lucy |
| Sex: | Female |
| Age: | 2 years |
| Weight: | 34.0 |

| Coat: | Rough (Medium) |
| Energy Level: | Med/High |
| Spayed/Neutered: | Yes |
| Heartworm Status: | Negative |
| Location: | Hill Country (SA/Austin) |
| Adoption Fee: | $300.00 |
At just 1 year old, Lucy may have grown into her long legs and big girl looks, but don’t let that fool you—she’s still a puppy at heart! This playful Border Collie girl is all about fun, whether she’s romping with her foster dog siblings, shadowing her humans, or figuring out how to play with her newest (and tiniest) step-sis—the 9-week-old kitten.
Lucy is play, play, play all day. True to her breed, she’s medium-to-high energy—after a good five-mile run, she’ll happily crash for a well-earned snooze on the floor and be content. She’s incredibly smart and eager to learn, already showing off “sit,” “down,” “speak,” and “stay.” She’s also crate trained, has fantastic recall, and is SUPER FOOD MOTIVATED!!!! (training her is as fun as it is rewarding). Like any teenager, she’s still working on her manners—counter surfing and dumpster diving are her sneaky guilty pleasures if no one’s watching. Also like any teenager, she likes to "talk" back..lol
Lucy’s herding instinct is strong. While other dogs chase the ball, she’s happiest rounding up the players instead of fetching herself. Give her a job and something to chew on (trust us, shoes don’t count!), and she’ll thrive.
Lucy would be the perfect match for an active family who wants a bright, affectionate companion with a goofy, fun-loving personality. She’s sweet, loyal, and endlessly entertaining—once you meet her, you won’t be able to imagine life without her.

Frank is a sweet and cuddly 9-week old pup that was rescued from a hoarding situation in North Texas.
Frank is the most lovable dog, to people and other dogs alike! There’s nothing he loves more than to be held and have a belly rub. And he always have an “itchy spot” that gets that leg moving. He is a little shy at first but once he knows you he wants all the love. He does very well in the crate, takes good naps and sleeps through the night. He started walking on a leash and picked it up in five minutes. The whole walk he was staring at his person wagging his tail. He has a lot of interest in balls, especially a slow moving soccer ball. He is very food motivated and almost has a sit perfected. Also, he seems really interested in water. Frank is making progress on housetraining and can keep his crate clean. He plays really well with his sister Mabel and is very submissive to her. Also, he does great in the car as well (with no motion sickness!). He really is the sweetest thing and is would make a wonderful best friend for an active family.
Frank is currently being fostered in Kerrville, TX.

Firecracker and her mom, July (2025 Alum), were found as strays and brought into a high-kill Texas shelter.
Firecracker (nicknamed Sketti) is an adorable BC and Kelpie mix pup who loves nothing more than to get belly rubs from everyone she meets. She loves to play with toys, running after a ball and playing in water! Of course, her absolute favorite thing in the world is getting cuddles and following her humans around and she already has amazing good recall for a pup of her age. Sketti is great on a leash (and keeps a loose leash most of the time), very well crate trained and will go run to her crate on her own to wait for her meals and is housebroken. Even at this young age, Sketti has a great balance of active/playful and off-switch. She thrives on routine and will happily settle down during the work day after a nice walk / play session and a good breakfast.
Sketti is super smart and quick at picking up training and knows:
- Sit
- Down
- Wait
- Stay
- Search
- Touch

Maxey is also known as Sweet due to her pleasant disposition and as now Bullet due to her lightening intellect and growth spurt. She is fine in the kennel, prefers Hawaiian music on Pandora vs Apple Music and also likes Michael Buble station. She is a smart pup who anticipates a command and jumps to it like a little soldier; will learn calculus for dehydrated salmon treats. She enjoys running out doors and resting under a shade tree as the day goes by. She is non reactive, now living next to a parkway and close to several airports and has heard the house generator kick on and isn't bothered. She is food motivated and happy to please. She's a people focused sweet dog who loves to cuddle and be your evening TV buddy. Her tail wags as soon as she catches sight of you and is eager to make contact. She's a True Companion and able to participate in any sports you want to train her in. She has no separation anxiety and sleeps well in her crate. Loves bully bones and her Mr Pencil fluffy. She's quiet during the day while her foster works upstairs. She rarely barks but if there's another dog near her yard she will give a bark to let them know she's there. She rides fine in the car and has been handled by plenty of the children in the neighborhood and enjoys a good game of chase. She's learned to go after a ball but no the bring it back yet. Be prepared for morning kisses. She's ready to be your best buddy and wants to be trained to go on America's got Talent.

Hey there! I’m Henry, a delightful 12-week-old pup ready to steal your heart! I’m a social little guy who loves hanging out with my doggy pals and my kitty friend. I’m almost a pro at using the doggy door for potty breaks, but I might need a little more practice!
At night, you’ll find me snuggled up in the hooman bed, and let me tell you, I have a set of lungs that could rival Mariah Carey when I want attention! 🎤✨This is how I ended up in the hooman bed at night!
I’m a playful pup who adores toys and loves to bring every stick I can find into the house. Treats? Oh, they’re my absolute favorite! 🍖 I’m super friendly with everyone, including tiny humans, but just a heads up, I still have my shark teeth, so let’s be gentle!
I’m a laid back little dude looking for a loving family who will spoil me with love and cuddles. If you think I could be the perfect fit for you, I’m located in DFW and can’t wait to meet you! Apply for me today! 🐶❤️

River was rescued from an 80+ dog hoarding situation in N. Texas
River is a sweet, loving, gentle and WATER-loving pup. He is very good with young and older kids, loves to play with the other dog (a female BC) and the kitty in his foster home and is a great hiking companion for an active family. He has bonded well with his foster family and will go to them for pets and treats, but may be more shy in a new environment until he gets more comfortable. River loves to run through sprinklers and splash pads and would probably do well in a pool with the proper safeguards. Although River would adjust to being an only dog, our preference would be for him to have a a confident and playful dog-friend in his forever home to help him continue to build confidence.
For adult dogs, socialization after being in a hoarding situation for years can be a continued process over months and even years, and while River is still shy and skittish meeting new people, he has come such a long way in just the span of a couple of months, including pets from strangers, being pretty calm during a bath and grooming! We are looking for a patient, loving, and gentle family to match the same traits in River and know that he will thrive in that environment and continue to gain confidence.

| Name: | Ella |
| Sex: | Female |
| Age: | 2 years |
| Weight: | 41.0 |
| Color: | Black & White |
| Coat: | Rough (Medium) |
| Energy Level: | Medium |
| Spayed/Neutered: | No |
| Heartworm Status: | Negative |
| Location: | Hill Country (SA/Austin) |
| Adoption Fee: | $1.00 |
Ella joined the rescue at the end of August. She was surrendered to one of our shelter partners because she didn't get along with another dog in the household.
At first, we thought Ella might be deaf as she didn't respond to all the sounds and was super hyper-attentive to movement. However, since being in foster care, we've determined that Ella can hear just fine (like snack bags through a closed door!).
She's still a bit skittish and fearful in her foster home but still been very cooperative. She warmed up to her foster mom within twenty-four hours but has been more reserved with her foster dad. She seems to need the company of a person much more than a “safe space,” although if she gets scared, she will seek refuge in the bedroom where her foster has set up her things.
Her initial introduction to the resident dog was not a friendly one – Ella showed signs she wasn’t going to be friendly (lunged at a gate, lunged slightly and growled at the other pup through a window), therefore her foster family is going very slowly with introductions and trying to get the pups used to seeing one another. They continue to follow tips from BCSAVE and another trainer and hope to introduce the two dogs and hope they can become friends.
There are three cats in the house, all of whom have lived their lives in households with dogs. So far Ella is doing fine with the cats. She seems to be curious about them (they aren’t super crazy about her, but they’re used to living with dogs), but so far she has not tried to chase them or acted aggressively toward them in any way. She’s been very good about responding when her foster mom redirects her if she’s staring at a cat.
She started out VERY fearful of the outdoors, although she’s been excellent about going out to go potty; she has not had a single accident in the house. She’s finally begun staying outside longer and exploring the yard and is gradually becoming less reactive to noises outside.
Ella is also a typical Border Collie. She’s very smart. She would already do “sit” when she arrived, and she will now do “shake” and “down.” She responds positively to “leave it” and she's working on door manners (not barreling through). She loves to play with a tennis ball and particularly loves catching it in the air. Her foster believes she’d love playing Frisbee if she can overcome her fear of the outdoors. She’s also doing well with the puzzles and snuffle mat.
If Ella were to go to a new home right now, she would do well with a person, or even a couple, in a low-key household who had plenty of time to work with her. She’s very loving and even playful, and loves having someone near her. She hasn't yet tested her with children, but based on her reaction to noises and activity, we believe kids might be a bit too much stimulus for her.
Despite her level of anxiety, she’s been incredibly well-behaved and loving, and she’s not shown the slightest level of aggression with us. She’s a beautiful girl and is going to make some family a great dog, but we certainly want the right person/people who will take the very best care of her.

Annie was rescued from an 80+ dog hoarding situation in N. Texas
Annie is a beautiful and sweet girl and is very gentle and easy going with other dogs and cats. Although she may take a while to come out of her shell in a new environment, her playful and curious nature does emerge and it's so fun to see her do a zoomie around the yard or initiate play with another dog she's comfortable with! Annie also recently learned to walk on a leash and is already showing herself to be a natural, loose-leashed walker that is not reactive to dogs, cars, lawnmowers (although she is still skittish when another dog is barking loudly).
For adult dogs, socialization after being in a hoarding situation for years can be a continued process over months and even years, and while Annie is still shy and skittish meeting new people, she has come such a long way in just the span of a couple of months, including pets from strangers, being pretty calm during a bath, and letting herself be groomed/brushed (including a nail trim)! We are looking for a patient, loving, and gentle family to match the same traits in Annie and know that she will thrive in that environment and continue to gain confidence.

In Oct. 2024, we were asked if we could assist with a big hoarding case in far NTX. BCSAVE and ABCR w/ rescues from TX and other states came together to save 44 pups from a much larger group, a breeding program gone awry. These pups had no regular human contact and were essentially feral, but we worked with the family and got the first group of 29 (!) here in TX vetted, heartworm tested, spayed/ neutered and into fantastic fosters home and most have been adopted (still have a few waiting).
Then in January 2025, we were able to get 4 young pups (the J Group) and into foster and adoptive homes.
Now, the next batch is here! Starting with #45 (because we forgot to number the J’s 🤣), we have FOURTEEN new pups! These pups are slightly less feral than the first batch, but will still require patience and experience with unsocialized pups. Our preference is to place them in foster homes first, then find the perfect adoptive families once they learn to “dog”. They have lived outside all their lives, but are super smart and the last 48 pups have learned house rules super quickly! They have all also been super dog-friendly, and come from working stock so some are *very* herdy.

Meet Remy LeBeau / Gambit – aka The Great Gambino
Gambit is a purebred AKC Border Collie with a stunning medium tri-coat, standing 20” tall and currently weighing 32 lbs (ideal sport weight ~38 lbs). He’s fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and healthy with excellent hips, vision, and hearing.
Surrendered simply for being “too much energy” for his previous family, Gambit is thriving in foster care and showing us exactly who he is: a high-drive, people-oriented, goofy, affectionate young dog with a bright future
.
Why you’ll love Gambit:
Smart and trainable – strong tug and food drive, solid recall, and quick learner
Playful athlete – loves fetch, tug, and is already starting Frisbee 101 and agility foundations
Family friendly – balanced with other dogs, warms quickly to new people, and has shown he’s comfortable around kids
Velcro personality – wants to be near his people; shadows you through the day and settles calmly after exercise
Good house manners – potty trained, crate trained at night, doesn’t counter surf, and is respectful indoors
Ideal Home for Gambit:
Gambit needs an active family or novice sport home that will give him the structure, exercise, and engagement he craves. He doesn’t have to compete, but he does need a family that wants to include him in activities — hiking, training classes, frisbee in the yard, or weekend adventures. He’s not a couch-potato companion and won’t be content with being left in the yard.
Gambit could also be a strong fit for recreational dog sports such as frisbee, agility, flyball, or obedience. He’s confident, biddable, and already building the foundation for success.
Loyal, smart, goofy, and affectionate — Gambit is the total package for an active family or beginner sport home ready to give him a job and a place to shine.

Reed was rescued from the euthanasia list at a San Antonio shelter.
Reed is super sweet, friendly and cuddly. He loves to play with toys and a ball outside and has a super fun, mischievous and sassy personality! He loves walks although can be a strong puller and give a snap at the occasional car. He gets along with other dogs and is great with cats, although he may prefer female dogs or a more submissive male as playmates as he can be a bit competitive with a game of outdoor fetch (just with the foster's more dominant older male dog, with whom the competition is mutual!). Reed is great with a bath, is housebroken, crate trained and knows his basic obedience (come, sit, down, shake, stay).
A physical note for Reed is that his tail appears to have been removed (either on purpose or by accident) - it has no impact on his health but is an FYI for adopters that prefer a tail (or don't).

LOOKING FOR A PLAYFUL YET SWEET-NATURED BEST FRIEND?
Meet Dublin, a likely purebred red merle Border Collie with a striking solid white body and a gorgeous merle mask around his bright, expressive eyes — and yes, he has beautiful bluish-green and gold eyes that will absolutely melt your heart. Dublin came into BCSAVE’s care after being found as a stray and held at a San Antonio shelter. There, he received all of his vaccines and vet work before being neutered and moving to his foster home in Austin.
Dublin is currently recovering from his neuter surgery, settling into his new foster environment, and getting ready to begin sport training. With a tall, long frame and an athletic build, he will likely fill out closer to 40 lbs as he matures.
Since joining rescue, Dublin has revealed a playful, gentle personality with a big heart and an ever-present, grateful smile. He adores playing with other pups—especially those close to his age—and is extremely respectful of older dogs. He’s that sweet little brother who just wants to make everyone happy.
________________________________________
Personality
Dublin is an affectionate, goofy, and endlessly endearing young pup who lives to play and connect. While he’s still learning about the world, his easygoing, gentle nature shines through in everything he does. Dublin is still learning how to be a dog. He looks to the other dogs in the house for guidance, confidence, and reassurance, and he thrives when he has a canine role model to follow. He adores toys (especially squeaky ones!) and will happily recruit you for endless games of tug or fetch. His antics, like sprinting around the house with a squeaker to annoy everyone, are sure to make you laugh daily. Though he rides beautifully in the car without any sickness, Dublin isn’t particularly interested in car rides — he doesn’t really understand what the big deal is and would much rather just stay close to his people. He sometimes requires a bit of convincing to go outside, as he’d always rather hang inside with his humans. Once outside, he enjoys exploring, but his first choice will always be snuggling or quietly keeping you company. Dublin is a cuddle expert. He loves crawling right into your lap and will happily melt into you for long petting sessions. He’ll often place his head in your lap—earning instant ear scratches and making it impossible not to smile.
He is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night without a peep. During the day, he mostly respects work hours and will nap contentedly under your desk. Occasionally, he thinks it’s hilarious to squeak his favorite toy while you’re on a conference call, but he always makes it up to you by placing his head in your lap to say “sorry” (and secure even more snuggles). Dublin is fully potty trained. He has been kept on a regular schedule, has never been asked to hold it too long, and has never had an accident in the house. He isn’t very food motivated and can be a picky eater—except for popcorn and Fiery Hot Cheetos, which he absolutely loves.

Social
Dublin thrives in the company of other dogs and enjoys gentle play. As a young dog still learning how to be a dog, he looks to canine friends for confidence and reassurance. He is quiet and non-reactive, only occasionally barking to alert his family when a stranger approaches. He has shown no aggression and approaches new situations with curiosity and a gentle spirit.
Dublin is good with cats and does well with dog-savvy children who respect his space and gentle nature.
________________________________________
Sport
With his tall, athletic frame and playful personality, Dublin has a promising foundation for light sport work, such as disc, agility, or obedience games. Once fully recovered from surgery, he will begin training and may blossom into a fun sport partner. While he’s not overly food motivated, his toy drive makes him a great candidate for tug- and toy-based training games.

Gracie and her siblings were rescued from a 30+ dog hoarding case in North Texas and are a part of our Heartland 29 group.
Gracie (approximately 8 months old and 34-ish lbs), started off very timid like all the others but her confidence has grown since being in foster care. She has mastered the doggy door and is crate trained. She likes balls with squeaker though she does not know how to fetch.
She is good with kids and plays well with others dog but if the dog is too submissive, she will take charge. She also has a pretty strong prey drive and is not good with birds or small animals, so we’re guessing no cats either. She has tolerated a bath but is too squirmy for a nail trim yet and continues to do well on leash. She has become over confident now and we must now work on training her not to jump on everyone! She is very sweet and will allow pets from her foster family and will bounce from couch to dog beds to floor with great speed and enthusiasm.
She would do best in an active home with at least one other younger, confident dog she can play with and continue to learn and grow with.

Rook is a happy go lucky, goofy puppy who loves all dogs and people (and things in general)! He has zero fear of water, stairs, cars, etc. and just wants to enjoy the fun part of life from now on. Rooks sleeps overnight in a crate without accidents and is getting comfortable with leash walking.

| Heartworm Status: | |
| Location: | Upper Gulf Coast (Houston) |
| Adoption Fee: | $300.00 |
Reba was rescued from an 80+ dog hoarding situation in N. Texas
Despite surviving the first couple of years of her life with outside with minimal human contact, Reba is the sweetest and most gentle and petite gal that seeks and loves receiving affection once she forms a bond with her people. She loves couch time and belly rubs and has the cutest zoomies when she's happy. She gets along with all dogs and is so good with cats as well! Reba recently learned to walk on leash and is loving getting daily walks and sniffing all the new smells - she has natural loose leash walking skills and doesn't pull when she sees other dogs, cats, or squirrels.
For adult dogs, socialization after being in a hoarding situation for years can be a continued process over months and even years, and while Reba is still shy and skittish meeting new people, she has come such a long way in just the span of a couple of months, including allowing pets from strangers and even letting them carry her if needed! We are looking for a patient, loving, and gentle family to match the same traits in Reba and know that she will thrive in that environment and continue to gain confidence.

🐾Hendrix (4 yrs old, 39 lbs) was a stray that we rescued from the shelter. He is:
👉 Super sweet
👉 House & leash trained (will crate but needs encouragement)
👉 Likes balls (will self-amuse if you won’t play with him)
👉 Likes running with other dogs
👉 People and pup friendly
Hendrix likes to be near his person. He gets very nervous about being grabbed around by the collar – we think a man was probably very heavy-handed with him. He is fine with males but definitely is more at ease with women. He has not been kid or cat tested but he’s got such a sweet disposition, we think kids would be fine (especially older ones). He has not shown very much herdiness or prey drive, but we would recommend slow introductions to any felines. He’s also active but not crazy, so would likely do well in a household where he gets lots of walks/ runs/ play time and then can relax inside with a bone or ball.
He will need to be on strict activity restriction for a minimum of 60 days beginning mid-October or so, when he gets his first set of shots. Otherwise, he’s an easy-going, fun, sweet, slightly goofy pup who will make a great first Border Collie boy for the right family! 🥰

Dot was found in a horse barn in a rural part of Mississippi with a new litter of puppies. Both Dot and the puppies were rescued, and the puppies all found good homes but Dot was not a good candidate for adoption as she was extremely fearful of people. Luckily, our wonderful Louisiana partner was able to arrange a rescue angel to fly Dot to Texas, where a cadre of BCSAVE volunteers picked her up and got her to our staging foster. For the first several months, Dot was basically feral, unsocialized, afraid of everything and avoided all human contact.
About 7 yrs and 44 lbs, Dot has come SUCH a long way! She LOVES to give hugs and kisses. She sleeps in the bed, loves to chase her friends, and hangs out in the WFH office beautifully.
She still has challenges – she is learning to walk on the leash without flopping over but it will take time to get her truly comfortable with the leash. She does not voluntarily go in a crate, but you can pick her up and put her in and she’s fine. She is very scared of new things, so you have to hold her tight and she can be very vocal at times.
Dot is looking for:
A uber patient family who understand that Dot may never walk on leash through the neighborhood
A friend or 2 who she can hang around and play with
A backyard to run in and a very secure fence
Settles very well in the house and will just sleep
Dot is a beautiful pup who just needs someone patient who can work with her through her timidness. She has never been aggressive or mean, even when she was extremely scared. She will take a little bit of time to warm up to you, but if you do adopt, know that Dot will eventually reward you with smiles and kisses that are worth the wait!!

Spark, Fozzy, Gracey and Ringer were saved by a rescue angel in OK after they were dumped at a church and lived outside for several months. Spark is about 8 months old and was the smallest of all the pups, currently around 40-ish lbs. Like his littermates, Spark has a striking feature that will make him stand out in a crowd. Not his coat, but his eyes - one brown and one ice blue.
Spark is great with dogs of all sizes and while he used to be the shyest of the group, he has been warming up super fast and becoming more confident. He also does not show any resource guarding (food or toy) and is a laid back pup. He is treat motivated and learning to walk on the leash.
HOWEVER - Spark does NOT like being crated at all. He will bark and make a yelling noise in the crate. He escapes all crates except for the Ruffland. He also can’t have bedding, blankets, or a frozen enrichment toy in his crate otherwise he will rip them up. But you can leave him out and he causes no issues.
Spark is still in boarding and needs either a foster or foster to adopt. He will make a great family pet for a moderately active family and would love another fur-buddy to play with. Interested folks can reach out today!

JC was surrendered to the shelter as a euthanasia request because he was 9 yrs old, morbidly obese, and the owner lost her home and was going into an inpatient mental health facility. The shelter instead convinced the owner to surrender JC in hopes of finding a new home.
JC is 102 lbs 😲. The shelter says he is a sweet dog who really got the bad end of the deal. There was another dog in the home and the owner found a place for him to go, but no one wanted JC. 😢
He will need to go on a diet (obviously), possibly with help from a nutritionist to make sure loses weight in the most healthy way. We will also need to monitor him for other health issues, including any joint or bones issue due to his age and weight. So far, JC is a dog, cat and people friendly and loves his toys. He is not available to adopt at this time as he is currently in foster care helping him lose weight and get healthy again through a special, monitored diet and slow but steady exercise combined with vet check ups to make sure things are going well. Luckily, he is heartworm negative.
If you might be interested in adopting JC when he is available, you can get pre-approved now!

Echo is an approximately 7 months old female BC out of Louisiana who arrived with BB We think they are from the same line as Nick and Sally (joined us Jan. ’20) and CeeCee and DeeDee (Dec. ’23), who inspired their names. If so, these girls have working dog lines in their blood.
Echo is about 25 lbs and a smooth coat and she is super sweet and friendly. She loves her people and loves being cuddled. She’s still young and a little timid, but she’s quickly coming out of her shell. She is still potty training and learning house manners. She will go in a crate willingly, especially with a bone to chew on, and still needs to practice on a leash.
We think Echo would be best with another dog to learn from and to lean on. An active family with a backyard would be perfect!

🐾 Adams is our second Big-Hair/ No-BC pupper looking for his FURever home. About a year old and 65 lbs or so, Adams looks like Gene Simmons (thanks Laura for the comparison!) but he is really a GIANT teddy 🐻 of a pup!
Like his brother Madison, Adams is ready-made for a home looking for a cool cat of a dog:
👉 Leash and house trained
👉 Loves cats and dogs and kids
👉 Not crazy active
👉 Steady, secure, stable
👉 Amazing recall and manners
Adams is well-socialized, friendly, active, and fun. He is made for a more relaxed home, especially during the summer months when he prefers inside to out. He did get into a little trouble as a youngster, eating something he wasn’t supposed to just to keep his brother from getting it and had to have it surgically removed, but that’s brotherly sacrifice, right?!? And he’s been MUCH better since, and a little more picky in his choice of snacks lol.
Adams is a great pup for a family looking for a living, breathing, full-body side sleeping pillow of a dog. Maybe yours? 🥰

RIP-ROARING TO FIND A FOSTER TO ADOPT OR ADOPTIVE HOME!!!
Rip (~2-3 yrs, 34 lbs but underweight) is ready to find a FURever home! What we know about Rip so far:
✅ He’s dog and people friendly, though he can get a little over-enthusiastic in play at times (not cat or kid tested, but we think older kids would be fine)
✅ Starting to pick up toys and LOVES treats
✅ Needs work on some house manners – will counter surf or jump on you though if you have a treat, he definitely understands the need to sit
✅ LOVES scratches but someone may have grabbed his collar too many times because he will duck and dodge
✅ Pretty house-trained, but don’t dilly-dally in the AM to let him out
✅ Will bark outside at unfamiliar noises like thunder (which he is not afraid of)
❌ Apartment living – he needs a back yard AND a regular playmate to keep him busy
❌ Crates – he has had instances of serious(!) crate reactivity but oddly enough will go into a crate willingly to eat
❌ Needs some leash work – he pulls and tries to get to the other pups and walkers
He’s active but not crazy, will settle inside and sleep through the night, and is overall a nice pup who will make a great family pet for an active family.

🐾 Eve is one of FOURTEEN dogs pulled from a hoarding case in Mississippi, where they all lived in an apartment together and after discovery, were subsequently surrendered to different shelters in MS. All fourteen dogs were severely underweight, probably in-bred, had urine-stained fur, and soft paws from never having been outside. Luckily, none of them were heartworm positive. Many were very timid upon rescue and NONE of them were house-trained, but all have shown themselves to be very sweet and loving dogs and good with other pups. Six went to our rescue friends at Border Collie Rescue and Rehab, while eight stayed with BCSAVE.
Eve is a FANTASTIC pup! ~1-2yo, 35 lbs, she:
👉 Is independent but loves to cuddle
👉 Loves food and fun toys and water play
👉 Always in a great mood, though sometimes she peppers a little sassy in with it
👉 Loves to get her backend scratched and will dance for you if you get the right spot
👉 Doesn’t like to be left alone when you leave but can be trusted inside with something to distract her
👉 Still learning how to walk besides you on leash
👉 Can be a little aloof and slow to warm up at first but once she does – ride or die ’til the end!
👉 Has the most beautiful highlights and lowlights
👉 Can be talkative but not overly so
❌ Does NOT like crates – will scream and shout if crated
Eve wants an active home, where running and playing is required. She loves other dogs and will play with them, but is not overly needy or pushy about it. She’s not been around cats or kids so she can’t tell you what she thinks about them but she’d probably be fine once she got used to them (her littermate, Snowflake, has chickens in her life!). She’s got the most BEAUTIFUL coat, with silver highlights, fun to be around, not clingy and will be your new best friend if you let her!

Meet Ringer! Ringer is around 8 months old and is a border collie/great pyrenees mix. He has a beautiful brown and white soft coat with enchanting brown eyes. Ringer is low energy. He is very calm and is a big couch potato. He is content running around with his dog friends, then laying down for a nap next to his favorite human. He wants to be with his people and has no issues sharing the attention. He walks fantastic on a leash, but if you don't feel like taking a walk in 2025, Ringer would be more than happy to stay home and binge watch Netflix.
Ringer is around 65 pounds (and growing) and is the biggest bucket of love. He loves everyone he meets, including dogs. Ringer's gentle with kids of all ages, from infant to teen. He is great with both men and women. No matter who it is, he offers love and kisses. And at this size, he'll make any owner look petite! Bonus - he'll keep you warm at night so you can save on heating bills.
He also has an amazing temperament with other dogs. He is more of a submissive player, and will wrestle, chase, and play tug of war. He doesn’t have any toy aggression or guarding. Ringer is potty trained, house trained, and crate trained. So snow days mean nothing when you have a dog that is this well-mannered!
He is being fostered in Waco, Texas. Check out Ringer today!

Cousin Eddie (approximately 3 years and 40 lbs) says he’s thankful that he wasn’t put to sleep in the shelter. Cousin Eddie is very appreciative of ALL the people who tagged the rescue to let them know about him because he really is a great, fantastic, turnkey dog who deserves a home of his own. Cousin Eddie says the foster home he is in is soooooo much fun, and he loves playing with the other dogs and snuggling with his new foster dad. Cousin Eddie even thinks the cat is okay (….so far). His foster says Cousin Eddie just wants to be loved. His history of not having a permanent home shows in his lack of manners, but he’s not too old for learning and is happy to please. He’s strong and strong-willed, but not a mean bone in his body. He loves kids, dogs of all sizes, and cats. He can get over-stimulated playing with multiple dogs but can be a great companion with one other friend and he craves human companionship in between playtime.

Flash is a sweet, soft-hearted boy with a calm and gentle demeanor. He loves playing with other dogs and is still learning to confidently approach humans but shows a strong desire to please and thrives on praise.
Flash has an endearingly "floppy" personality and adores physical closeness. He does exhibit noise anxiety from loud or unexpected sounds. He responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and is a quick learner. His cautious nature may make him hesitant in new situations, but his sweet personality shines through.
Flash is adjusting to indoor living. While he’s not yet trustworthy to have free roam of the house, his crate is his safe place, where he feels calm, quiet, and secure. He is still working on potty and leash training but is making steady progress. Flash loves car rides and enjoys visiting fenced dog parks, where he interacts and plays wonderfully with other dogs. Since he lived on a farm in and a kennel, he may try to run if scared, so a secure environment and close supervision are essential until he learns. Flash isn’t interested in fetch or toys and is still figuring out his feelings about water and swimming.
With his friendly, adaptable nature, he is the kind of dog who will build a deep bond with his family, always eager to please and share his quiet affection.
